چکیده

This work presents, for the first time, a dual time stepping (DTS) approach to solve global system of equations that appears in hybridisable discontinuous Galerkin (HDG) formulation convection-diffusion problems. A proof existence and uniqueness steady state solution HDG problem with DTS is presented. The stability limit derived using von Neumann analysis, leading closed form expression critical step. An optimal choice step, producing maximum damping all frequencies, also derived. Steady transient problems are considered demonstrate performance proposed approach, particular emphasis on convection dominated Two simple approaches accelerate convergence three different marching compared.

An Implicit Difference-ADI Method for the Two-dimensional Space-time Fractional Diffusion Equation

Fractional order diffusion equations are generalizations of classical diffusion equations which are used to model in physics, finance, engineering, etc. In this paper we present an implicit difference approximation by using the alternating directions implicit (ADI) approach to solve the two-dimensional space-time fractional diffusion equation (2DSTFDE) on a finite domain. Consistency, unconditi...

Finite integration method with RBFs for solving time-fractional convection-diffusion equation with variable coefficients

In this paper, a modification of finite integration method (FIM) is combined with the radial basis function (RBF) method to solve a time-fractional convection-diffusion equation with variable coefficients. The FIM transforms partial differential equations into integral equations and this creates some constants of integration. Unlike the usual FIM, the proposed method computes constants of integ...

Analysis of an Embedded Discontinuous Galerkin Method with Implicit-explicit Time-marching for Convection-diffusion Problems

In this paper, we analyze implicit-explicit (IMEX) Runge-Kutta (RK) time discretization methods for solving linear convection-diffusion equations. The diffusion operator is treated implicitly via the embedded discontinuous Galerkin (EDG) method and the convection operator explicitly via the upwinding discontinuous Galerkin method.

An Explicit-Implicit Predictor-Corrector Domain Decomposition Method for Time Dependent Multi-Dimensional Convection Diffusion Equations

The numerical solution of large scale multi-dimensional convection diffusion equations often requires efficient parallel algorithms. In this work, we consider the extension of a recently proposed non-overlapping domain decomposition method for two dimensional time dependent convection diffusion equations with variable coefficients. By combining predictor-corrector technique, modified upwind dif...

Fully implicit time-stepping schemes and non-linear solvers for systems of reaction-diffusion equations

In this article we present robust, efficient and accurate fully implicit time-stepping schemes and nonlinear solvers for systems of reaction-diffusion equations. The applications of reaction-diffusion systems is abundant in the literature, from modelling pattern formation in developmental biology to cancer research, wound healing, tissue and bone regeneration and cell motility. Therefore, it is...
